Farewells Posted by JohnBoy - Thursday, February 27 2003 |
*AUS* would like to Farewell 2 members that have decided to call it a day. Firstly Eagle, Eagle was in *AUS* when LW first came out and left after a few months only to once again return however he has now decided to put all his efforts into the Tom Clancy Division in the *AUS* Network. All the best Eagle and we will see you back in *AUS* soon. Next is a person who has been around for along time. This person is Snappy. He joined *AUS* around the same time I did and since joining he has been an asset to *AUS*. I feel alot of times he was a father to quite a few in this squad. He did a stint as my 2ic and I must say it was great to have him in that role. However it comes a time when people get a bit tired of the game and this has happen to Snappy. He just wants to have a break for a little while and go solo. I reckon this will be the case until BHD comes. All the best to both of you guys and rest assure you are more then welcome back to *AUS* anytime. *AUS* salutes you guys. |
Matches Played Over The Weekend Posted by JohnBoy - Tuesday, February 25 2003 |
*AUS* had another busy weekend with 3 matches being played all up. Our first one was a friendly with .Æ in LW TKOTH over 5 maps. We went with 8v8 however there was some lag issues so we both dropped a player and went with 7 each. .Æ once again had some great gunners making it very hard for us to get into the zone and when we did it was very hard to hold the zone. .Æ ended up winning the game 4-1 however it was a great night and gave some of the newer members in *AUS* a great experiance. Well Done .Æ On Sunday *AUS* had the big final in the Anzac Warrior TFD CTF event against *OZI*. *OZI* would come out strong blood thirsty for their first TFD crown. It didn't help us that 2 of our better flag runners DS and Sxb both dropped out with connection problems either but we soldiered on. *OZI* ended up winning 2-1 however the maps were very evenly contested as they always seem to be with *OZI*. Well done to *OZI* on their first TFD Crown and also to *AUS* who bring second place home. Our third Match was against *AN* in a friendly of TFD TKOTH custom maps. Both teams submitted 2 maps each and the winner was determined with the overall zone time. *AUS* ended up winning all maps and had the most zone time however *AN* sure did put up a good fight. It is great to see now that most Aussie and New Zealand teams are pretty much even par. Well done *AN* and great sportmanship. These guys never give in.. |
*AUS* Vs .Æ Result Posted by JohnBoy - Friday, February 21 2003 |
*AUS* played .Æ in the last round of the Anzac Warriors Anzac only TFD CTF. *AUS* wanted this win badly after our defeat against *OZI* last weekend. The first map we came out strong grabbing about 4 to 5 quick flags but after that it was near impossable for us to get anymore due to .Æ with tons of firepower. .Æ managed to get one more flag then us in the first map to take the win. Second map saw us grabbing the first couple of flags and pretty much held the lead for the entire map to win it. It all came down to the third map and *AUS* knew that we were already on the back foot due to our flags being in a bad position. .Æ was able to collect all their flags while we only managed 2. This map is a easy map for the blue but thats hows things go and .Æ won 2-1. It was a great game which was enjoyed by all. .Æ has great gunners and they will be a contender for the crown. We hope to battle it out again real soon.. |
*AUS* Roster Reform Posted by SilverBullet - Tuesday, February 18 2003 |
*AUS* is committed to developing and maintaining organisation and a strong team spirit. Members who wish to brandish the honourable *AUS* tag have to be committed to the team, not only for the game, but for the strong friendships we create. Unfortunatly the following members have been let go, but in the same line its time to move forward Def Dropbear Specty Diesel RusselCrowe Mick Dundee Napalm The following have been placed in the Inactive list: Heavytank WildCat COW JobboBob For now *AUS* will not recruit anymore people unless being trusted ex-members, or are very experienced and good players, who can show good dedication and value to our squad. Farewell and good luck to those who've left |
Matches played over the Weekend Posted by SilverBullet - Tuesday, February 18 2003 |
*AUS* was pretty busy over the weekend and played four matches in both LW and TFD. On Saturday we played SOH in the first round of the DFNCL TFD TKOTH, we won 2-1 and proceed to the next round, well done We also played *RA* in a LW TKOTH Friendly, which was good fun, *AUS* lost 2-1 as one of our own (Ice Cannon) subbed in for them in a map and cleared us preventing our win; the dufus! haha Ta *RA* for the game ![]() On Sunday *AUS* played 2 matches against American teams. First up was against *DFR* in DFChicks LW TKOTH which was a continuation from a council dispute previously which we hosted and they had problems with lag. This time they hosted and beat us 3-1 Our other match that day was againt SOM in AW Razorball, they too hosted and beat us 3-0, well done SOM. With so much problems and bullsh*t *AUS* has had with Overseas teams, we've decided not to participate competitively with o/s teams anymore. *AUS* has always be great sportsmans and dealt with Lag and server issues when O/S teams host, but it never seems like many O/S teams deal with the facts when we host. Therefore *AUS* is being more committed to playing and building the domestic Aussie scene. However, depending on circumstances, approaches by O/S teams for friendlies maybe thought otherwise. |

*AUS* Match Results Posted by JohnBoy - Monday, February 3 2003 |
*AUS* played some very important matchs this week starting off yesterday with the Anzac Warrior Task Force Dagger Team Death Match 6v6 knives only. We played ~S^S~ for third place. *AUS* managed to win the first map but then ~S^S~ fought back winning the second pretty easy and then seeing the third to be the hardest. They were in front for most of the third map but great efforts to the gang and also to Jackel we managed to get in front and stay there to win the map and the match and to bring third place home. Straight after that game we had a double header with ~S^S~ in the Anzac Warrior Land Warrior Team King of the Hill Grand Final. This was going to be a very hard game as we were playing on a US server and lag was not going to be on our side. ~S^S~ were able to win the first map but *AUS* sure gave them hell. The second map was awesome with the zone changing sides all the time and seeing ~S^S~ holding the zone right to the end with about a minute to go before we cleared them and to regain the zone and won it. The third map was to be the decider and this one too was another hard fought battle. ~S^S~ held the hill and were able to rape us very well but great efforts to the boys we prevailed and held them off to secure the zone once again in the last minute to win the decider and to win the match. *AUS* winning the Anzac Warrior TKOTH 2-1. Last night saw us having a friendly with .AE in a game of Land Warrior Search and Destroy. It was something different and it was fun too but .AE was able to overpower us winning 3 nil. Great Games .AE Today saw us playing our last game of the Black Hawk Down Demo Tournament against ^DFC^. We were able to outgun them winning 3 nil and securing a spot in the Finals Playoff. Well done to all members of *AUS* for yet another great weekend of Matchs. |
