Match Report By ICE CaNNoN*AUS* What a game that was! In the lead up to the match, there was many a practice with the theme "How to stop MS", as in our last hit up he was our biggest foe. When it came to match time, we were ready. Our first map team or RC, Ice, JB, J & DS did brilliantly to stop MS. Our plan of 3 attackers and 2 defenders succeeded, as MS did not manage 1 single flag in our 20-4 victory. We out knifed, out climbed and out ran them, our organisation left a stunned AN side to regroup before the next map. That they did, they managed to come right back into the game during the next map, it was even Stevens for the majority of the map 2 flags each. SxB, Ice, COW, SASR and Jackel did brilliantly to hold off many charges, but our efforts where matched by the opposition, AN holding off our every attempt. Then in the last 30 seconds, they slipped through, and I think one statement from JB said over TS sums it up "oh SHIT!" 1 map all and on to the Gridiron map. The last map has only 1 path to the flag bay - straight on. Our team of Jackel, JB, Ice, DS and Geko went in with sharpened blades ready for a hard fought map. We caught them unawares at the start of the map banking a quick flag to give us the lead. Then started the battle, the flag changed hands too many times to count, we had it, we charged, we lost it, they grabbed it, they charged, they lost it and so on. Many a time there was a great run, only to be cut down by their last defence. We managed to get another through thanks to some great knifing from all of us. Then we had the upper hand, it wasn't over yet for AN, they still had a chance. That chance was snuffed out by some more great knifing, and a headless man named Ice - when a space opened up, I managed to slip through, remove my head and run home a flag. Then we held them off for the last 5 or so minutes to claim victory and the upper hand in the AnzacWarrior.com TFD Razorball Finals series. |
