*AUS*B vs <<TAG>> |
Summary |
Oceanic TKOTH
Round 5 <<TAG>> had a heavy reliance on gunners while *AUS* B more experience towards close combat. This resulted in some rather fancy maneuvering. But most importantly, we had a shit-load of fun and some of us got a few decent scores in too!! It's too bad med-scores don't come up on the score screen 'cos we really pushed that practice too the limit. Map 1: Ghost Town <<TAG>>: Scorpian, Hand of God, Kippa, O2, Taipan*AUS*: ShadoFX, Maverick Stiiixy, Napalm, Ghost. Well, what more can be said that the value of medics proved valuable. But I think we overdid it somewhat (especially map 3) as the value of risking a medic in zone compared to reviving a team-mate can sometimes be a bit of a moral dilemma. As well, it means that your men must run that bit closer in formation if you hope to rely on meds, and that makes easier prey for the enemy to exploit, which of course, happened. While we fussed around outside in the gully's, Hando blew most of us too shreds on the approach and left Kippa and O2 to mop up. Scorpian killed from within the zone rather effectively from the second-storey window of Building 5 whilst Taipan stayed mostly hidden through this map. Our guys had a rough ride of it and copped a few good beatings. Result: <<TAG>> defeated *AUS* Player of the Map: Hand of God for the excellent kill/death (most of his deaths were mine!! lol) rate and Scorpian for the huge time and high kills. Map 2: Mayan Ruins <<TAG>>: Fubar, Hand of God, Kippa, O2, Scorpian*AUS*: Napalm, SxB, Maverick, Stiiixy, Ghost This game was absolutely hopeless and a lot of time was spent wasting time waiting for meds that could ever make it. The terrain was too open and Kippa, O2 and Hando just took advantage of this. 9 seconds compared to the hour they racked up just shows how dismal performance we put up here. Totally out gunned and out-classed, but not without tenacity as our guys kept fighting without a bad word said anywhere. TAG dominated both the our high ridge and the smaller range of hills just off the zone making sure it was difficult to use the terrain as cover. Result: <<TAG>> defeated *AUS* Player of the map: Kippa for his daring and 'arsey' raid on our post and actually doin 'some decent damage!! lol Map 3: Jungle Kings <<TAG>>: Taipan, Scorpian, Kippa, O2, Hand of God*AUS*: Ghost, Mick Dundee, Napalm, SxB, Stiiixy We had lost the war, but we weren't gonna lay down arms just yet. We fought harder and played a bit more sensibly. Ghost played most of the game on left flank floating around at the base of the ridge taking advantage of the good job SxB made of clearing the tree. The rest of us went our merry ways into the zone. It changed hands many a time and was fast-paced action and shots in the back that would put a Nazi too shame. Nice and dirty and loved every minute of it. O2 played some ballsy moves with lying prone in some grooves on our side of the map and Hando liked to make a few mad runs out wide and pop a few off before being sent back for the rude interruption. I played rather well, racking up a few kills and being the first with Ghost to get a positive kill rate while rackin' up some time 8-). Not bad for a pair of 33.6er's, ay? Sexy kept up a decent close quarters battle inside the zone while Napalm and Mick kept up the meat-grinder tactics and actually paid off as the rest of us took them out while they were distracted. God knows I saw them go down plenty of times before me and then hopefully I could take them out. Short of keeping up there usual barrage of bodies, bullets and bravado TAG only just managed to hold the zone in the dying seconds of this match and was a close one indeedy. Tough right to the end and no-one really taking the same course of action. Tactics morphed with the terrain and meds did very good but the constant deaths made it hard to justify doing sometimes as the zone is rather close to blue spawn and some people were waiting a long time for meds to appear. Result: <<TAG>> defeated *AUS* Player of the map: O2 Stiiixy*AUS* |
