*AUS* vs ~ASO~

Summary

AUS Players – SilverBullet, Stiiixy, PiddlePot, Sl@ughter, Snappy, JudgeDread.

We had a Team (6) plus a few reserves in the chat room by 20:45.  The scene was one of mayhem as spirits ran high.  Myself, Sl@ experimented with Mirc as the chat program of choice, thanks BFG made it a whole lot easier to be there.  FireBird was in the room, but was still getting used to the recoil of the new patch; as well a few of the team, from comments picked up.  With around 10 minutes till game time Camo made his appearance and picked out a well balanced team of Veterans, Newbies, skill and plain old fashioned FIREPOWER. Myself and Silver went in as Medics, both equipped with SAW's.

Game time came and my self and a few others left and re-booted, grabbed drinks and tried to control their Heart, Lung and other Bodily functions as we joined the pre match map. At this stage Sl@ughter started to take control and give orders.

GAME TIME

MAP 1:
This map was really the unknown, people were saying in the chat that these guys were new, no experience etc.  Well after the first few minutes we knew this was not going to be easy! And as you can see by the final score, both teams had to fight hard to get flags.  Aus moved out in groups of two in a very lose formation covering the plains and gullies as we moved in on the targets.  The 2 medics broke off and ran with the flankers to provide med support and SB to provide some serious fire support.  Lag seemed to be okay for both sides, as the teams meet for the first time.

*AUS* & ASO captured flags early, but both sides were held off in the second part of the game by good sniper and flag sitters from ASO, and a good Offensive defence from *AUS*.  The assaulters took lead and started to out flank ASO, who at that time made a break through the middle in force, how do I know this? Because it was me they butchered as 4 of them engaged me at once. This match was one hell of a fight, and the teams were very evenly matched, the scores below show

SilverBullet 2 1 20 8

MAP 2:
I thought RW was used well in the first game, well in the second things just got better, we had full communications going in this match. *AUS* moved out early in an extended line, Medics flanking slightly to provide coverage across the wide front that this map offered, the enemy were engaged quickly and their first wave of attack was dealt with early.  *AUS* picked up early flags on this map as well, but that was short lived.  ASO came back with some very good assaulting and over ran us to gain back the initiative.

Sl@ughter once again lead by example by taking it to ASO.  With SL@ughter, SilverBullet, Snappy and PiddlePot, raining fire upon the enemy in the middle and last parts of the game, and dragging in the flags.

This was not an easy win, ASO are a very good team and very competitive, we lost SilverBullet in the last minute of the game, due to a CI, so his score is not on the SS.

MAP 3:
With tight wins in the last 2 games, the *AUS* pucker factor went down to a 5 instead of 9 as we relaxed a bit.
Sl@ughter issued orders and warned us that this map was going to be tough ( OMG the last to 2 were easy m8?? ~LOL~ ).  Both Teams captured early flags in this game as well as they were spread wide and the approaches were under cover of large terrain features.

Then all hell broke lose! Our Assaulters meet their's on and around the largest feature with the house on top, the action was fast and furious as ASO and *AUS* tried to defend and grab the flags to the East and West of this feature. The land scape was a nightmare to work on as the undulating country side offered too many approaches and escapes for both teams to cover.  This game went the full time limit neither side giving an inch and both defending their last flag in heavy numbers.  With 4 minutes to go Myself and Piddle lay in wait at our remaining flag, while the rest of the team tried to co-ordinate an assault on the last flag.  We lost one member early being cut down by good fire from ASO, 3 members made the assault but one was lost on top of the main feature and only 2 got to the compound.  I can only imagine the pucker factor on this as I sat and watched the team names move in and around the objective.  With time we may have got that last flag, but the clock stoped and the game was a Draw.

*AUS* 5 - ASO 5

This was a hard fought match!  With both sides giving it their all.

Although the stats don't reflect it Stiiixy was in the right places at the right time to provide much needed support well done m8!!

Sl@ughter, PiddlePot, SilverBullet and Snappy, work very well together providing mutual fire support and engaging the enemy at long and close range.  The whole team used RW to good effect!! Providing intel!

ASO are one tough team, so I am looking forward to a rematch as the game will be of a very high standard.
