*AUS* vs *AIF*

Summary

AUS Players - Camouflage, Slaughter, JohnBoy, BFG, Ballistic, SilverBullet and Snappy.

The first game of the CTF Oceanic Tourney was played tonight.  With AUS doing a lot of preparations for this match and fielding the strongest team we have, we thought we were in for a very good chance of winning against AIF which would have to be the hardest team around OZ at the moment.

MAP 1
AUS started off really well with Slaughter and JohnBoy grabbing the first two flags, however AIF made it very hard for us to get the other flags.  With AIF having a couple of their guys with M4’s which were causing havoc for us allowed them to grab their flags.  Before we knew it AIF only needed one more flag and we needed two flags.  With Camo, Slaughter and Balistic trying to guard the last flag, JohnBoy and BFG went after our flags.  At this point in time SilverBullet dropped out which was not what we needed.  AIF managed to get the last flag to take the first game but not before we gave them one heck of a fight.  At this point in time AIF knew it was not going to be a pushover.

MAP 2
With AIF winning the first game we knew we had to win this one to stay within the game.  We started off very well again grabbing the first two flags and again those annoying M4’s and a sniper went to high ground and were pinning us from all directions.  While this was going on it opened a fairly clear passage for their flag runners to get some flags.  By this stage SilverBullet had dropped out again which took us down to five members.  With AIF needing one more flag and AUS needing two, Balistic and Johnboy went for the last two while Camo, Slaughter and BFG who were doing a very good job at defending the last flag.  AIF players moved in for the kill and managed to grab the flag while Balistic and JohnBoy had their own problems trying to get the last two flags.  AIF managed to get the flag home and took the second game and the First Round of the Oceanic League.

MAP 3
With AUS shell-shocked we were not going to give in without a fight. AIF were very strong opponents in the first two games but this was by far their best game.  They were able to occupy the Middle Mountain and hold it against our attacks and in the mean time ripping us apart at our respawn point.  AUS managed to get two flags while AIF needed one more.  Once more poor old SilverBullet dropped out and this time Snappy came in.  JohnBoy decided to go down into the tunnels to protect the last flag.  As I went down the tunnels I was unaware that SAS*AIF* was already there until he picked the flag up so I waited for him and naded him.  So AIF decided that they would hunt in packs and sent two or three men down which was too much for me to handle.  AIF managed to get the flag an under good covering fire, were able to get it back to their base and take the first round 3 nil.

OK men, we did play very well tonight and for SAS*AIF* to say this at the Oceanic League Forum  AIF wins 3-0 in what can only be described as the hardest match AIF have had in a very very long time well done guys it was a pleasure.” They knew it as well however they are a very skilful side and if we continue to play like this throughout the Tourney, we will be playing AIF in the final for the big REMATCH!
